NSS SRCC participated in the Special Village Camp organised by the NSS Centre, Delhi University along with 3 other DU colleges from 23rd March- 27th March .
The camp was organised in Bhagini Nivedita College located near the two target villages of Kair and Mitraon.
There were approximately 50 volunteers from each college making it an enthusiastic group of 200 volunteers willing to work in the rural areas of Delhi.
The activities included door to door interaction with the villagers on a variety of topics such as government health and education policies, women safety, employment opportunities, family planning, technology adoption, etc.
Besides this, we undertook plantation and cleanliness drives, performed street plays addressing the issue of sanitation and cleanliness, organised rallies to spread awareness regarding drug/alcohol abuse.
The Village Camp proved to be a great learning experience for all of us and we hope to work more closely with the rural segment of the country.
