Has the societal pressure compelled today's youth to withdraw themselves from the society itself ? Is success just about a stellar CV and a high paying job ? Or is it just that our interpretation of success is exclusive of the people around us?

Are we responsible for our ignorance towards social issues or has the societal pressure made us self centric?

We would like to hear from you all of what you feel regarding this issue! It will be a pleasure to listen to your invaluable ideas and views. Kindly refrain from using any derogatory language or personal attacks. We believe in freedom of speech and you should too!

It is indeed a shame to know that even in the 21st the society carries such a mind set! This societal pressure has not only built a huge wall between the youth and the society but has led the youth to live a forceful life... A life that he/she has no actual interest in living. This sort of pressure has led to people not being able to follow their passion just for family sake... For parents worry being that of the child's secure future!!! It's not wrong for the parents to thing in this manner. But yes this mentality that only a doctor or an engineer or a CA (or so on) leads a happy n peaceful life...it is not practically correct!! A high qualification degree cannot buy one's happiness, one's pleasure, and one's satisfaction of having utilized one's precious time and life in a productive way... And from productive I don't only mean productive for the society. It mainly focuses on self productivity!!! And not only this, people have forgotten who they are, by leading a life of a robot. The most important thing in life should be to UNDERSTAND ONESELF :)
Also, when we think of someone... Know him/her by the kind of person they are rather than by their education or qualification or job... KEEP THE INNER SELF ALIVE! Don't pretend to be someone who you are not. Or one day you will actually become the self you are pretending to be which you will regret for later on! BE WHO YOU ARE... Live life to the fullest, in the way 'you' have always dreamt of and not that others have designed for you!!!
#TrueYou :)

First of all thanks for making me a part of NSS . I agree that societal pressure or peer pressure had made us bit egocentric. We are more concerned of materialistic gains. But we can and we should spare some hours from our schedule to help others , no matter how much small that help might be . It is not a arduous task to do . Bringing a smile on some other's face can only make you feel better.

Social pressure indeed is responsible for turning today's youth self centered as we judge person on the basis of his qualifications and not on the basis of moral or ethical values that person has . Only persons having a respectable position in their professional world are appreciated no one gives a love to the people serving the environment

Nowadays social pressure stops people from being social , we all have a view of success that if a person own home, car, nice clothing etc , he is considered as successful.
But by running behind all these we are losing our health, family atmosphere, everything that a person really need. Increase in pressure made people arrogant, violent towards fellow being, mentally disturbed.
A solution for it maybe once in a while take a vacation, live a life not for others but for you

Helping others is not a task which should be done for taking a certificate and improving the cv....nothing is greater than smlie which we see on others face after helping them... And never will be...

The societal pressure has indeed made people to distance themselves from the society! Running after "The world defined success" is what the people think is the need. They are too fearful of following the path less travelled by.
The solution to this problem is discovering what is the real purpose of your life? Does having all the materialistic things fulfill your motive of coming here as an Earthling?
Serving the society, finding your happiness in other's happiness will make this society a better place to live in.

Neither we are being ignorant towards the social issues nor any pressure is being exerted which pivot us towards ourself only.
We are hardly known about the people in the society other than the status that we share.
At some point of time when we do counter such responsibility we tends to be helpless their as it being the first instance of ours.
Therefore it's basically our unawareness about it .
Rooting the cause won't foster rather rooting the solution as presented one by the formation of NSS would work .
